I highly doubt that the heels will make a run for the ACC. But they seem to be getting better.

Butch is more than just rumored to be headed to Arkansas. 2 million dollar buy out but the Hogs have the funds to do it. UNC isnt bad at all, but he just cant recruit there like he did in South Florida. He will get a few players but not the type of guys he needs to overcome his gameday blunders.

ACC is a fine football conference because they are so mental...unlike the SEc, who strive to physically intimadate. UNC will finish 3 or better in the ACC next year. I hope FSU and VT have enjoyed their run, for it now is coming to a close!

VT shows their true colors, again. They have played two teams worth a damn all season and they have come out 0-2.

The only thing the "prevent defense" does is prevent the team that's using it from winning. You win games by trying to win them, not by trying not to lose them. Beamer tried not to lose that one, and it came up and bit him in the keester.

Agreed 100%, the only time I can ever see using it is on an obvious "Hail Mary" situation. BC started their 1st TD drive on their own 8. They (VT)should have brought the heat. </div></div>

I hate the prevent D! But on the pooch Beamer should have 1)Gone for it or 2) Kicked the FG. Some times you gotta take chances. Play to win. And Foster can be stubborn too. Did you guys notice on the TD that VT dropped 8 and rushed 3 and one he dropped back was O Martin a 260 lb. DE? And the ball was thrown over Martin? Why not bring in an extra DB if you're covering with 8?

That said I thought the D played lights out for 56 minutes considering 2 starting LB's didn't play. Hall out would be a big blow for anyone. Plus you're starting QB is out and your center goes down on an already thin OL.

But THE bottom line is, they choked again in the end. The last 4 1/2 minutes the O never saw the field and the muffed onsides did it. IMO in the end the blame goes on coaches. No O left the D on the field too long and a bad decision by Foster to go to prevent cost them. But give BC credit, they didn't quit.

    Re: BC at VT

I was at that game last night and it was so wet that I am not sure how the guys held onto the ball at all. The rain came in sheets and it ended up being a very looonnnnggg game. However, I can't believe the Hokie defense did such a good job and then let Ryan take over the last 2 minutes.

    Re: BC at VT

ryan helped to validate himself as a qb the last 2 mins of that game

prior to that he was simply average......but he stepped up as a leader and got it done

i was shocked.......i thought bc was done

    Re: BC at VT

Was at the game myself. Luckily I had a damn good poncho on that kept me dry. Decided to leave after the VT int with about 5:30 left in the game. Was just outside the gate when Tech punted BC down to the 9 yard line. The whole way back to my truck we talked about how the win would help Tech in the rankings. By the time I got to my truck and turned the game on XM, the viewer said 14-10 BC and I was just shocked. could not believe that after dominating the game defensively for 3.5 quarters, that the blew it.
